Who can I ask for assistance at the event?

For anyone requiring any assistance during their visit to The 2017 Senior Open Championship please contact the nearest volunteer who will be happy to assist.

Are cameras allowed?

Cameras are permitted ONLY on Practice Days (Wednesday). Cameras are NOT permitted on competition days (Thursday – Sunday). Although mobile phones are permitted on all five days of the event, the use of the camera facility is as per the above.

Is event mobility available?

Event Mobility provides electric scooters and manual wheelchairs at events nationwide for use by the disabled, elderly and mobility impaired. The Event Mobility Trailer & Tent will be located at the entrance gate. The electric scooters and manual wheelchairs are free to hire, however, a donation to the Event Mobility Charity is expected to be made. What time can I enter the event?

Gate Hours:
Wednesday 26th July: 07:00 – 19:00
Thursday 27th July: 06:00 – 21:30
Friday 28th July: 06:00 – 21:30
Saturday 29th July: 07.45 – 20.00
Sunday 30th July: 06.30 – 19.00

Are there any grandstands?

There will be Grandstands at the Practice Ground, 1st Tee, 18th Green, and Others TBC, which will be free and available to the public on a first come first served basis.

Are mobile phones allowed?

Spectators are prohibited from using mobile phones whilst on the golf course. Mobile Phones can only be used in The Championship Village. Mobile Phone Zones will be signposted accordingly. • Mobile devices are permitted but must be on silent. • Calls are only permitted in designated “MOBILE PHONES ZONES”. • Data use is permitted outside these areas but please be respectful to the players and spectators around you. • No video recording permitted at any time. • No photographs permitted during competition round (i.e. after Wednesday) • Violation may result in the confiscation of your mobile device or removal from the tournament.

What is the smoking policy?

Smoking is not permitted in any structure, including outdoor balconies and grandstands.

Prohibited items

The following items are prohibited from being taken beyond ticket and security checkpoints or into the venue; cameras on competition days; ladders; picnic baskets; briefcases; portable TVs; pushchairs; bicycles; deckchairs; audible pagers and banners.

Will merchandise be available?

A wide range of Official merchandise will be available in the Official Merchandise Shop in The Championship Village.

Where is the Information centre?

The Information Centre is located in The Championship Village. Programmes and draw sheets are also available here.

Where can I find lost property?

The Lost Property point is situated in the Information Tent in The Championship Village. Any lost items will be handed in here and stored in The Championship Office overnight.

What do I do if i become separated from my children?

Children who become separated from their parents or guardians will be taken to The Championship Office. Please contact the nearest European Tour staff member or volunteer if your child is lost.

Is there a bookmaker on site?

There are no bookmaker facilities on site.

What childcare facilities are available?

There will be no public crèche.

What is the evacuation procedure?

If it is necessary to evacuate the site, please follow the instructions of the course marshals, volunteers and event officials in an orderly fashion.

What is the first aid procedure?

First Aid support will be on-site at The Senior Open Championship and located at the entrance of the Championship Village. In the event of an emergency on course, please contact the nearest marshal or official who can contact someone to assist.
